Now that the intial numbness has worn off, I'm pretty sure I broke my pinky and ring toes on my left foot. Walking around on them is a holy *bitch*, and they throb with pain constantly. I've never broke anything, including toes, and this feels nastier than sprained digits, which I've had before. Taking a peek at them (as much as I could, it hurt too much to try and pry the bandages off right now) they are mighty swollen.

I should develop a remarkably pretty (and large) bruise on my left hip, too. I shall be sad if it doesn't show up, because it sure feels like it will, and I haven't had a note worthy bruise in a long time. I hope to take pictures of it for later painting reference. I want to do the same with my toes, because broken or not, rhey are still pretty mangled. I think I'm going to lose the pinkie nail. It shall be gloriously disgusting.

Midterms went okay. My watercolors turned out well, and my essays weren't as hard as I feared. now I hunker down to write a six page paper on a topic for I which I can find *no* references that are in English. Tears!

Drive-by nursing

I'm sure Moon's already said this, but ice!1 Rest (so walk as little as you can get away with it), put a bag of ice/frozen vegetables on it any time you're not standing, and keep it elevated. That'll help with the swelling.

She's better at the broken-toe thing than i am, though, so i highly recommend talking to Moon.

This drive-by nursing attack brought to you by the letter 'toe' and the number 'ow.'

My dad used to break his toes all the time. He eventually got so used to it that he just sort of popped them back into place, taped them up, and kept going.

That was sort of unhelpful. Um.

Broken little toes hurt but aren't too much of a medical worry, at least that I'm aware of...but you might want to make sure you haven't broken a bone up in your foot, which could be problematic.

Egh. I'm sorry! Broken bones suck.

That happened with my mother and toe dislocation, but not breaks.

Anyway, what the gollum said. I've broken my pinkie toe twice, and the doctor side of things was always "well, there's really not a damn thing we can do for toes, so [instert gollum's advice here]."

I don't think it's a foot break at all . . . just the toes! I sucked it up and popped them back already, so now its just the throbbing.

Whoops, wrong comment. ^_^; Yeah, I know there's not much I can do. Some girl in class asked if I'd gone to the hospital, and I couldn't help but look at her a little funny.
